General information on data privacy

We take the protection of your personal data in accordance with EU GDPR/BDSG (European General Data Protection Regulation / Federal Data Protection Act) very seriously. This section will inform you which data we collect and how these data are used and stored by us.

If you do not enter any personal data, we merely collect technical information related to your visit to our website in order to improve our internet offering and its technical functionality. Any other data which you may provide are used exclusively for the purpose of fulfilling your request, the expediency of which forms the legal basis for the processing of these data.

All data provided to or received by us are handled in accordance with the data protection principles of confidentiality, integrity and availability. In order to ensure this, we implement all technical and organisational data protection measures available to us. All data are subject to deletion rules adapted to comply with relevant national legislation.

Data is only transmitted to third parties where consent has been granted or, in strict compliance with the EU GDPR, for the purpose of performance of a contract (an order), where required by law or in cases of legitimate interest. Where data are passed on to subcontractors, we ensure that these subcontractors comply with the same data privacy policies. In cases where data are transferred to countries outside the EU, we ensure compliance with European standards (Privacy Shield).

Websites may change – as may the use of data. We will make every effort to ensure that any possible future collection of data is described or that corresponding information is updated. We would therefore advise you to read our Privacy Policy regularly.

Technical aspects

The provider of our websites automatically collects information and stores it in so-called server log files. Data collected in this way include:

Browser type/ browser version, the operating system used, referrer URL, host name of the accessing computer, time of the server inquiry, IP addresses

In this form, these data cannot be traced back to a specific person. These data are not merged with other data sources. We use such data exclusively for the purpose of ensuring problem-free connection to and use of the website.

Use of SSL encryption

For security reasons and to ensure secure transmission of the confidential content which you make available to us as the operators of the website, we use so-called SSL encryption. You can see this when the display in the address line of your browser changes from http:// to https:// with a padlock symbol. This means that the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

Use of cookies

When we use cookies, every visitor is notified of this via a pop-up menu the first time he or she accesses our website. Visitors can then decide whether to grant consent to this.

Cookies are information transferred by our web server or the web servers of third parties to the user’s web browser and stored there for later access. Cookies can take the form of small files or other means of storing information. We use cookies to facilitate the use of and optimise our website. Users who do not consent to the storage of cookies on their computers are requested to activate the corresponding option in their internet browser settings. You can delete stored cookies in your browser settings. However, blocking cookies may mean that you do not have access to all functions of our website.

Contact form, comment function, e-mails

In our contact form, we collect any data entered by you – specifically your contact details and your request – in order to provide you with a simple means of contacting us. Such data are transmitted to us and are used exclusively in order to process your request. Specifically, these data are the details visible on the contact form.

Use of Google Analytics

Based on a legitimate interest in the analysis and optimisation of our online services as defined by the EU GDPR/BDSG, this website may use products of Google Analytics. Google uses cookies. As a rule, information on your use of our website generated by cookies is transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

Google has certified that it adheres to the Privacy Shield Principles and offers a guarantee that it complies with European data privacy laws. The full text can be viewed at www.privacyshield.gov

Google uses this information on our behalf to evaluate the use of our website by users, to compile reports on activities on this website and to render further services related to the use of the website and the internet. During this process, user profiles using pseudonyms may be created based on the processed data.

We use Google Analytics to ensure that advertisements placed with the advertising service of Google and its partners are only displayed to users who have shown an interest in our online offering or in the featured topics.

In most cases, we only use Google Analytics with active IP anonymisation. This means that the IP addresses of users are truncated by Google within the EU member states or other states party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transferred to a Google server in the USA and truncated there.

The IP address transmitted by the user’s browser is not combined with other Google data. Users can block cookies by making the corresponding settings in their browser software; moreover, users can prevent the transmission of data generated by the cookie and relating to their internet use to Google and the processing of such data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in provided under the following link: Google Analytics Opt-Out.

Further information on the use of data by Google, possible settings and opt-out procedures can be found on the Google websites: www.google.com

Use of Google Fonts and reCaptcha

This website may use so-called web fonts provided by Google in order to ensure the uniform presentation of text. When you access our website, your browser downloads the required web fonts to your browser cache in order to display text and fonts correctly.

In order to do this, your browser needs to establish a connection to the Google servers. In this way, Google receives the information that our website has been accessed via your IP address. We use Google Web Fonts in the interest of ensuring uniform and attractive presentation of our website. This represents a legitimate interest as defined by the GDPR. If your browser does not support web fonts, your computer will use a standard font.

We use Google reCAPTCHA on our websites.

reCAPTCHA is used to ascertain whether data input on our websites (e.g. on a contact form) is entered by a person or via an automatic program. To do this, reCAPTCHA analyses the behaviour of visitors to the website based on various features. This analysis begins automatically as soon as the user accesses the website. For analysis, reCAPTCHA evaluates various information (e.g. IP address, the time spent on the website or the user’s mouse movements). The data captured during this analysis are transmitted to Google.

Data processing is performed on the basis of the EU GDPR, as we have a legitimate interest in protecting our website against unauthorised automated spying and SPAM.
